Blarney Studio - Re-Opening Information

Written on 15/07/2020

We are so excited to recommence our classes in Blarney from this coming Monday 20th July.

Unfortunately, we are unable to use the Blarney GAA Hall for these classes (we were only informed of this yesterday), we had been led to believe we would be able to access it this month. However, in the meantime, we have managed to secure Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, (Secondary School) in Blarney to deliver the classes.

SMGS are under time constraints in order to complete upgrades for the reopening of the school at the end of August and will need their hall returned, so our plan is to run the 5 classes over a one week period (Dance starting Monday 20th July & Drama starting Monday 27th July).

Initially, we had hoped to run these classes once a week for 5 weeks, but this decision was taken out of our control. We have been as proactive as possible to secure a new venue at short notice as we are committed to teaching these drama & dance classes, and fulfilling what we have outlined earlier in lockdown.

We have completed rigorous risk assessments over the past few weeks and have new procedures in place for social distancing in classes. These were implemented with great success in our Douglas studio when we re-opened there on the 29th of June.

Please find attached our new amended dance timetable which will run from Monday 20th - Friday 24th July, the drama timetable will follow shortly. In line with various government requests, our class start times and finish times are staggered in order to reduce the numbers queuing at any one time and also to give us the opportunity to clean in-between groups. Your child will stay in the same class group for these 5 classes, we will move students up to the next age groups in September (No new students will be accepted until September).

As this is a new venue and in-line with both our policies and SMGS's new COVID-19 policies, we must know in advance which students will be attending class. Therefore we are asking you to email us info@studiowolfe.ie if you are NOT attending. This must be done by this Saturday 18th July. If we don’t hear from you, we will assume you are participating and allocate you a space in the group. Don’t worry if you cannot attend all 5 classes, we will treat this as we do in our regular term and you will just be marked as absent on the days you miss.

As mentioned previously in order for us to successfully and safely reopen, there will be some changes made in the way your class is delivered. These are listed in our class guide (available in the COVID-19 section of the Studio Wolfe app).

The students are the heart of everything we do and our number one priority is to have them return to the activity that they love. We want to reassure you that the safety and well being of the students and our staff is of paramount importance and we will continue to do our utmost to remain vigilant and responsive.

We would like to take this opportunity again to thank you all for the support and loyalty over the past few months in making it possible to keep the doors open in Studio Wolfe. Our ability to deliver these classes in person and the online classes is down to you, our students and parents.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Studio Wolfe.

Careen & Declan
