TEEN MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME

We are delighted to announce the launch of our Teenage Mentorship Programme. 

This programme will allow our 4th year teenage students to apply to become a class assistant with us in dance or drama classes for a term. (September- December, January - April , April - June )

• Subject title : Mentorship Programme
• Your name , date of birth, studio classes you attend.
• Your available days and times and the studio you wish to assist in. (ie: ballet, Thursdays Douglas studio from 3-5pm for Sept - December ) 

Our timetable of classes is available on the app. 

Requirements

• Classroom assistants must be age 15 or more - it would specifically suit those in Transition Year and those undertaking their GAISCE Medal.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must like working with young people.

Benefits of Teenage Mentorship Programme :

• Gain leadership experience.
• Gain a better understanding of how important dance, drama, acro and singing  fundamentals are and how they should be taught.
• Learn various teaching techniques and classroom management. This may help you if you ever decide to become a teacher yourself one day.
• Reaffirm and strengthen your own dance or drama technique. 

Please note : You will never be in charge of a class by yourself. You are not considered a teacher and will never be expected to teach the class. You are an assistant to the Fully qualified staff.

Compensation

• This is a volunteer programme so there is no payment for your time. 
• You will however be compensated with term tuition credit . You will be assisting alongside two of our fully qualified adult staff . The teachers are mentoring you. 

Duties will includes: 

• Participating in all activities / exercises / routines during the class.
• Interacting with and helping the students in the class.
• Helping with classroom management - lining children up , diving children into groups . 

Those who are successful will be emailed full guidelines of what is expected from them as an assistant. 

Regretfully we cannot accommodate all applicants, so please be aware that not everyone will be offered a position.
