SELF-TAPE INSTRUCTIONS

1.   There is 1 scene attached to tape, as well as a short audio recording of it which can be used as a guideline or additional aid to become familiar with the scene. You are performing the lines of the narrator and your adult should read the other lines for you. This includes an impression of Venetia's granddad which you should try to do in a different voice. Do your best to learn it off by heart but if you need to have the page in front of you that's okay too!

Some shorter lines to camera will need to be learned off by heart for the final shoot — but for now, don’t worry, we just want to see your personality and hear your storytelling voice.

2.   An Ident to Camera - State your full name, your age, agent, height and where you are based. Tell us something about yourself and your favourite fantastic fact. (max. 60 seconds)

3. Label and upload the tapes and complete the form as per the instructions below.

NOTES ON TAPING:

  • Your eye line should be into the lens of the camera, with your adult who is reading with you, sitting behind the camera.
  • Your reader should not be visible in the clip and their gender does not matter.
  • Please tape your audition in a quiet room with good lighting, preferably in front of a bare or minimally decorated wall.
  • Your scene should be filmed from the chest up.
  • If using a phone to tape your audition, it must be in landscape (sideways) NOT portrait (selfie) mode.

LABELLING & SUBMITTING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Separate clips or all edited together is fine, as long as they're labelled!
  • All videos must be in either .mp4 or .mov format.
