We’re thrilled to share some exciting news — the return of our annual IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) Exam Session is just around the corner! Taking place Monday 26th - Wednesday 28th May 2025, this is a wonderful opportunity for our young dancers to shine.
We would love to enter your child for their Star Dance this year. A dance exam is a wonderful way to see the progress a student has made in dancing year on year and also offers a great opportunity for students to showcase their talent and hard work for an external examiner. A Star Dance Award is a performance based exam where each child (in a group) performs two short dances with their teacher present, creating a calm and encouraging atmosphere. The exam focuses on stage presence, personality as well as dance ability.
Those already undertaking their graded dance exam, may also take this performance exam.
The Star Dance Exams will take place after school time (3pm onwards) on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th May in our studios in Dosco Business Park.
All students will be awarded a Star Dance plaque, certificate and examiner report from the IDTA to celebrate their achievement. To mark this special milestone, we’ll be hosting an Awards Ceremony in August at the studio, where students can receive their certificates and plaques in front of their dance class friends and family.
I’ve been entering students for exams for 20 years, and I can say with full confidence — these exams are a brilliant experience. They boost confidence, promote goal setting, and give students a wonderful memory of their hard work and talent.
